Paper Packaging And Printing Process
Nov 04, 2022| Packaging and printing are important means and ways to improve the added value of products and enhance their competitiveness. Usually you will always see a wide range of beautiful packaging boxes, do not underestimate them, in fact, each has its own characteristics, differences and uses, different packaging materials will also have different printing processes.
Common materials
Single-sided coated paper
1. Commonly used carton material, paper thickness from 80g to 400g various thicknesses, higher thicknesses to be two sheets to laminate.
2. One side of the paper is glossy, one side is matte, only the glossy side can be printed.
3. No restrictions on the printing color.
Corrugated cardboard
1. Commonly used are single corrugated paper and double corrugated paper.
2. Light weight, good structural properties, strong load-bearing capacity, and moisture-proof.
4. Can achieve various colors of printing, but the effect is not as good as single powder and double copper.
Special paper
1. There are many kinds of special papers, and the ones commonly used in packaging materials are: embossed paper, patterned paper, gold and silver foil paper, etc.
2. These papers can enhance the texture and grade of packaging after special treatment.
3. Embossed paper and patterned paper can not be printed, gold paper, etc. can be printed in four colors.
Common printing processes for packaging materials
CMYK printing
Four-color that is: cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), black (K), all colors can be mixed by these four inks, the final color graphics.
Pantone color printing
Pantone color refers to the printing of a specific ink to print that color, spot color color many colors, commonly used is spot gold, spot silver, can refer to the Pantone color card, but spot color can not achieve gradient printing.
Lamination
After printing, with a transparent plastic film attached to the surface of the print there are two kinds of light film and sub-film, to protect and increase the role of gloss, while increasing the hardness and tensile properties of the paper.
UV printing
The parts of the print that need to be highlighted are locally brightened to make the local pattern more three-dimensional effect.
Stamping
Hot stamping is the use of the principle of heat pressure to form a special metallic luster effect on the surface of the printed material. Stamping can only be single-color.

Embossing
A set of concave and convex stencils corresponding to the yin and yang of the image are used, and the substrate is placed between them and pressed by applying pressure to create a relief-like embossing effect. Various thicknesses of paper are possible, but cardboard cannot be embossed.
